HISTORY
History of SEYNA
2022
We continue to be overwhelmed by the steady stream of orders, and we are extremely proud of it. The 2022 fiscal year ends with an impressive growth rate of 23% in net revenue compared to the previous year. Europe is increasingly focused on recycling. SEYNA is a pioneer in tackling the hundreds of tons of plastic waste generated by strapping. As a result, we decided to establish our own system for collecting shortened plastic materials. In this way, SEYNA once again stops a waste stream and contributes to a more sustainable environment.
2017
We are proud to announce that SWEED MACHINERY from Oregon, USA, has granted us the exclusive right to import and distribute their choppers throughout Europe. We are very grateful to them and, as a token of appreciation, we send many orders across the ocean. Our growth rate is now around 12% annually. In the meantime, we have built a complete network of dealers across Europe. We place great value on our reputation as pioneers and maintain strong relationships with our dealers.
2013
In addition to our dozens of standard choppers, we worked on a particularly challenging project this year. For the client ALCATEL-LUCENT in Dunkirk, we supplied a unique recovery line. Old communication cables, which lie under the sea bed, are recovered and separated. These cables contain steel wire, copper, and polyethylene insulation, which, with the help of our choppers, such as the CE 513 QUAD and CE 450 XHD DUAL DRIVE models, are processed into reusable materials.
2012
Our choppers continue to amaze the world. In Spain, we delivered a €10,000 project for processing high-voltage cables with a diameter of about 60 mm. These cables are made up of 80% aluminum and are wound around a steel core wire. The separation of these materials is done with our SWEED 5703 XHD chopper and magnetic belts. Within one month, 700 tons of cable were separated and recycled.
2007
This year marks a key moment for our recycling machines. Due to the global demand for raw materials, more and more customers are convinced of the benefits of shortening their waste straps. Reducing metal and plastic straps allows for the reuse of packaging waste, which is not only environmentally friendly but also financially beneficial. We received orders from major companies such as ARCELOR MITTAL STEEL, LAURAMETAAL, and CORUS STAALGROEP. SWEED also developed the smaller CE300 model for smaller waste flows.
2004
Our recycling department completed several smaller orders, including supplying multiple machines to a Belgian manufacturer of steel pipes.
2003
Our recycling department won a significant contract with UMICORE COPPER to supply a machine that will process 25,000 tons of copper annually.
2001
As of January 1, 2001, SEYNA’s band sawing department was transferred to our former workshop foreman. BSS is continuing independently. SEYNA now fully focuses on three core areas:
- - Exporting turnkey projects in the sawmill industry with used machines.
- - Importing and providing after-sales service for OPTIMATIC machines in the Benelux region and for French-speaking clients worldwide.
- - Importing and providing after-sales service for SWEED machines for processing linear waste from the United States.
1999
SEYNA celebrated its 10th anniversary with a party to commemorate the survival of a young company, despite the many legal challenges faced during its establishment. During this event, we held an open house where clients could see our machines in operation. SEYNA introduced SWEED machines for processing linear waste for the first time in Belgium.
